Description

Overview

The HADES benchmark is derived from the paper "Images are Achilles' Heel of Alignment: Exploiting Visual Vulnerabilities for Jailbreaking Multimodal Large Language Models" (ECCV 2024 Oral). You can use the benchmark to evaluate the harmlessness of MLLMs.

Benchmark Details

HADES includes 750 harmful instructions across 5 scenarios, each paired with 6 harmful images generated via diffusion models. These images have undergone multiple optimization rounds… See the full description on the dataset page: https://huggingface.co/datasets/Monosail/HADES.

These images have undergone multiple optimization rounds, covering steps 0 to 6. For detailed optimization, refer to Section 3.2 of the original paper.

Benchmark Utilization

To use HADES, first collect MLLM responses to HADES prompts, then evaluate their harmlessness using a judging model (e.g., Beaver-dam-7B).

Generation Configs

Here is an example code that evaluates LLaVA-1.5 using HADES.

  • Use step=last to evaluate on final optimization images or step=all for all images.
  • To ensure accurate OCR recognition, set ensure_accurate_OCR=True and specify max_attempts for multiple attempts.
  • Default settings in our paper are step=all, ensure_accurate_OCR=True, and max_attempts=5.

Example Code for LLaVA-1.5

README history 6 revisions

Every night we snapshot the README of every dataset in the catalog. When the SHA changes we archive the new version and diff it against the last. This is the evolving thought record of the alignment-data field: what the author decided to say about the corpus, and how that framing shifted over time.
