Shuangsuo (双锁) — Bilingual Prompt-Injection Prompts
双锁 (shuāng suǒ) = "double lock": two languages, two layers of defense.
A synthetic dataset for training and evaluating prompt-injection detectors on Chinese, English and mixed-language text:
Simplified and Traditional Chinese, code-switching, pinyin, instructions hidden inside documents, and character-level
obfuscation (full-width letters, zero-width characters).
Most public prompt-injection data is English-only, while many teams deploy Chinese-developed models or serve
Chinese-speaking users with English-only guardrails. This dataset targets that gap.

print(ds["test"][0])

The test split uses held-out phrasings. Its override phrases, attack goals, extraction requests and benign questions
never appear in train or validation (0 overlap even after normalization). Test scores therefore measure generalization to
new wording, which is how real attackers behave. Validation shares phrasings with train and is close to saturated.

How it was built
Generated by a deterministic script (build/build_dataset.py, seed 2026) from hand-written
bilingual templates. Two design choices matter:
- No shortcuts: greetings, sign-offs and obfuscation are applied to benign and injection text at the same rate,
so a model can't learn "full-width text = attack". - Hard negatives (about 1 in 3 benign rows) contain words like ignore, system, instructions, 忽略, 系统, 指示 in legitimate use.
Safety and intended use
Every injection is canary-style: it tries to make an assistant reveal a hidden prompt or secret, send data to an
outside address, or reply with a fixed string. No example requests harmful content. Intended for training and evaluating
detectors and guardrails, and for red-team regression tests on systems you own or are authorized to test.
Limitations
- Synthetic and template-based: real attacks are more varied, longer and multi-turn. Treat scores as a lower bar, not a guarantee.
- Customer-support domain only; Traditional Chinese is produced by character conversion, so vocabulary follows Mainland usage.
- Labels are by intent; a few benign rows (e.g. "new task: summarize this email") are deliberately close to the boundary.
