Description

Prem Studio Guardrail Datasets

This repo contains two closely related safety/guardrail datasets used in Prem Studio to train small safety models in the style of Llama Guard:

dataset_user_prompt_guardrail.jsonl→ Detect unsafe content in user messages.

dataset_system_response_guardrail.jsonl→ Detect unsafe content in agent/assistant messages (i.e. “did the model reply unsafely?”).

Both datasets follow the same pattern:

A system prompt that defines the task.

A user message… See the full description on the dataset page: https://huggingface.co/datasets/prem-research/guardrail_samples.

Prem Studio Guardrail Datasets

This repo contains two closely related safety/guardrail datasets used in Prem Studio to train small safety models in the style of Llama Guard:

  1. dataset_user_prompt_guardrail.jsonl
→ Detect unsafe content in user messages.

  2. dataset_system_response_guardrail.jsonl
→ Detect unsafe content in agent/assistant messages (i.e. “did the model reply unsafely?”).

Both datasets follow the same pattern:

  • A system prompt that defines the task.
  • A user message that embeds the safety policy (S1–S14) and a short conversation.
  • A final assistant message that is the gold safety assessment:
    • line 1: safe or unsafe
    • line 2 (if unsafe): comma-separated list of violated categories

The style follows llamaguard-3-8b QA templates. Some source texts were lightly sampled from publicly described safety sources (the dev notes mention “web-scraping of anthropic hh-rlhf dataset (not the whole dataset, just a few pages of it) using Studio’s scraper, because that’s the one cited by Llama Guard researchers”). Document and review this before releasing publicly.

⚠️ Content warning: this dataset includes explicit examples of hate speech, criminal planning, self-harm facilitation, medical misadvice, and sensitive information disclosure. Handle with care.

Files

1. dataset_user_prompt_guardrail.jsonl

  • Task: “Check if there is unsafe content in User messages…”
  • What it’s for: front-line input guardrails — label incoming user queries as safe/unsafe before you pass them to a powerful model.
  • Label format: safe / unsafe + violated categories.
  • Example categories: S1 Violent Crimes, S2 Hate Speech, …, S14 Code Interpreter Abuse.

2. dataset_system_response_guardrail.jsonl

  • Task: “Check if there is unsafe content in Agent messages…”
  • What it’s for: output guardrails / post-hoc auditors — label the model’s last response and decide whether to block, redact, or re-ask.
  • Scope: the instruction explicitly says:

“Provide your safety assessment for ONLY THE LAST Agent message …”

  • Why this matters: this is the scenario where the user might be benign but the model slipped and produced something disallowed (e.g. instructions to make meth, disclose SSNs, or give dangerous medical advice). You want a small model to catch that.

Safety Policy

Both files embed the same 14-category policy:

  1. S1: Violent Crimes
  2. S2: Hate Speech
  3. S3: Sexual Content
  4. S4: Criminal Planning
  5. S5: Regulated Substances
  6. S6: Specialized Advice
  7. S7: Suicide and Self-Harm
  8. S8: Sensitive Information Disclosure
  9. S9: Profanity or Offensive Language
  10. S10: Intellectual Property Abuse
  11. S11: Elections Information Abuse
  12. S12: Technology Abuse
  13. S13: Critical Infrastructure, Espionage, Dangerous Operations
  14. S14: Code Interpreter Abuse

The assistant must output:

  • safe
  • or unsafe on the first line and the violated categories on the second line, e.g.:
    • unsafe
    • S5
    • or unsafe / S4, S12

README history 4 revisions

Every night we snapshot the README of every dataset in the catalog. When the SHA changes we archive the new version and diff it against the last. This is the evolving thought record of the alignment-data field: what the author decided to say about the corpus, and how that framing shifted over time.

Used by abliterated models none yet

No abliterated models in our catalog have declared this dataset in their YAML metadata yet. This can mean the dataset is used but not declared, is used outside abliteration workflows, or is new. The link will populate automatically as models are indexed.

Catalog is the map. Apps are the tools.

Run models on your own machine, not in the cloud.

Every model page has an "Open in Abliteration" button that hands the model directly to the first-party desktop client, at the quantization your rig can actually run. No API keys, no subscription, no prompt leakage.
