The catalog crosses 18,000 tracked models
On 4 October 2026 the tracker hit 18,016 records, a thousand up from the 17,000 milestone 17 days earlier. The daily rate has roughly tripled since the summer, and two producers still account for most of it.
The abliteration.org tracker crossed 18,016 records on the morning of 4 October 2026, a little over a thousand up from the 17,000 milestone recorded on 17 September. That is seventeen days, which puts the current pace at roughly sixty new models per day entering the catalog - close to three times the twenty-a-day rate sustained across the June-to-September window.
The acceleration is not new producers. Heretic and huihui-ai remain the dominant engines, and most of the thousand new records in this window carry one of those two signatures. The quantization republishing layer continues to multiply each new build across GGUF, EXL2, AWQ and MLX variants, which inflates the raw record count without inflating the number of distinct abliterations. If anything, concentration has risen since the September note: the top two producers now account for a larger share of weekly inflow than they did a quarter ago.
What has changed is cadence. Producers that previously shipped a build every few days are now shipping daily, and the ones that shipped daily are shipping more than one. Workflow improvements on the Heretic side cut per-model turnaround substantially over the summer, and the result is visible in the curve: the long tail is thickening, and the top of it has moved from linear growth into something closer to exponential. The base-model mix has not changed much. Qwen still dominates, Gemma 4 derivatives are appearing in volume but behind Qwen, and Llama remains the laggard of the three.
The catalog is public at abliteration.org/models. The previous milestone note has the longer-run breakdown by producer and by family.
