Pin, rename, delete chats
Hover any chat in the drawer, click ⋯ → Pin, Edit (rename), or Delete.
Short answer
Hover any chat in the drawer, click ⋯ → Pin, Edit (rename), or Delete. Pinned chats sit at the top of the drawer. Rename lets you replace auto-generated titles with your own.
Detailed explanation
The ⋯ menu. Each chat row in the drawer shows a three-dot icon on hover. Click for a menu with three options:
- Pin / Unpin - moves the chat to the Pinned section at the top of the drawer. Unpin returns it to normal chronological order.
- Edit - opens a Rename chat dialog with the current name pre-filled and selected. Type a new name (up to 60 characters), Save.
- Delete - opens a “Delete chat?” confirmation dialog with Delete and Cancel buttons. Confirming removes the chat and all its messages permanently, no undo.
Order: Pin · Edit · Delete (destructive at the end).
Pinning behavior. Pinned chats appear in a separate “Pinned” section at the very top of the drawer, above the “Today” and older date groupings. Multiple pinned chats reorder among themselves by activity - a pinned chat with a fresh message moves to the top of the pinned section.
Renaming behavior. Auto-generated titles come from a summarization pass on the first exchange in the chat (usually a short phrase describing the topic). Renaming replaces this. Empty name won’t save - the Save button greys out. 60-character hard cap. Rename doesn’t bump the chat’s position.
Deleting behavior. After confirmation, chat is removed from the drawer, database row deleted, no undo. Deleting the currently-active chat just removes it from the drawer - you stay on whatever screen you were on.
Why it matters
Long lists of chats accumulate fast. Pin the ones you’re actively working on so they don’t scroll off. Rename important ones with meaningful titles instead of auto-generated summaries. Delete noise to keep the drawer scannable.
In Abliteration specifically
The Rename dialog matches the app’s neko-style dialog framework - consistent buttons, colors, keyboard behavior (Enter to save, Esc to cancel).
Pin icon in the drawer row indicates pinned state visually - a small pin marker to the left of the chat title.
New messages in a chat bump it toward the top of its section. Unpinned chats sort by last-activity timestamp within their date group. Pinned chats also reorder by activity within the pinned section - sending a new message in a pinned chat pushes it to the top of the pinned block.
If a chat has been used with Council mode, it also shows a subtle underline marker in the drawer independently of pin state. If it’s used a reasoning model, it also shows the R marker. These are all decorative - they combine, they don’t conflict.
