Short answer

Settings has three main sections: Models (installed models list, add/edit/delete), Hardware (your rig details + recommendations), and Appearance (light/dark theme). Plus an About card at the bottom with version info and Terms/Privacy links.

Detailed explanation

Models section.

Lists every GGUF you’ve added. For each model you see: cleaned name (with · Q4 suffix), file size, context ceiling, and estimated speed. Actions per model:

  • ⋯ → Edit (rename, change context slider)
  • ⋯ → Delete (removes the GGUF from your models folder)
  • Click ⓘ on the model row for a detailed info tooltip (working memory, capacity, expected tok/s, warnings)

Add new model with drag-and-drop or the Add Model button. Triggers the fit-check dialog for oversized models.

Hardware section.

Read-only display of what Abliteration detected on your PC:

  • RAM (free / total)
  • CPU (name, RAM installed, GPU phrase)
  • “You can run” line summarizing which model tiers fit

Also shown as a popup on first launch (dismiss with “Understand” - never shown automatically again).

Appearance section.

Light / Dark theme tiles. Follows Windows theme by default; switching to Light or Dark overrides.

About card.

Shows version number (e.g. “Version 1.0.0”) and links to Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Why it matters

Settings is where you set up your PC’s relationship with Abliteration: what models exist, how much power you have, what the UI looks like. Rarely visited after first setup, but everything you might need to change lives here.

In Abliteration specifically

Settings opens as a full view within the app, not a modal - you navigate into it and back out via a back button, similar to how a mobile settings screen works.

Changes take effect immediately. Theme switches live without restart. Model rename shows up in the drawer immediately. Model delete removes the file from disk on confirmation.

Data location note: everything Abliteration knows about you (chats, models, settings) lives under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Caty\. Type that path in Explorer to browse manually.

Catalog is the map. Apps are the tools.

Run models on your own machine, not in the cloud.

Every model page has an "Open in Abliteration" button that hands the model directly to the first-party desktop client, at the quantization your rig can actually run. No API keys, no subscription, no prompt leakage.
